Objectives:  

    ·   Determining the prevalence and incidence of diseases in different regions, communities, and time periods 

·        Assessing the severity of diseases and providing appropriate solutions to reduce their impact

·        Determining the biological characteristics of pathogens in the region

·        Identifying emerging and re-emerging diseases in the region and country

·        Prioritizing infectious diseases in the region and country

·        Assessing knowledge, attitudes, and practices of the population in dealing with infectious and tropical diseases

·        Identifying risk factors and the relationship of diseases with various environmental factors

·        Determining effective treatment methods and finding the most suitable treatment methods for infectious and tropical diseases

• Development and application of human knowledge in the field of infectious and tropical diseases
• Conducting fundamental epidemiological and clinical research to improve the healthcare system in the country and meet the needs of the Islamic community
• Collecting, organizing, and classifying relevant documents, articles, and materials and publishing them
• Training human resources in the field of infectious and tropical diseases
• Encouraging and employing researchers
• Making efforts to attract the attention and cooperation of relevant research and executive centers within the country
• Scientific collaboration with research and educational centers in other countries and international organizations while observing the laws and regulations of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
